Kids Re-Enact Beastie Boys - Sabotage / MCA tribute [VIDEO]

In a wonderful tribute to late rapper Adam "MCA" Yauch, James Winters, a Portland, Oregon-based filmmaker, enlisted three children for a remake of the 1994 music video for the Beastie Boys' hit "Sabotage."

"Worked on this with the wife, kids and our nephew over the past week to pay tribute to Adam," Winters wrote in a note posted on Vimeo.com.

 The original video—directed by Spike Jonze—was, itself, a tribute to late '70s cop shows. Yauch died May 4 after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 47. via Yahoo

Jay-z Says Jay Electronica's Album Is "Amazinggg!" at MTV Press Conference [VIDEO]

Did Hov just call the album "Amazing"?

I could have sworn a few months ago Jay Electronic went on twitter and boasted about how he turned the album in and well, I don' tknow man. It's been months since then and now Jay-z himself is stepping in and saying that the album is almost there. Hov also talking about doing something very "experimental" with Jay Elect's project.

This should be interesting.   I wonder how the Jay E stans on the boards are feeling about what Hov's had to say on E's behalf. I won't believe it until I hear it, period.

Thee Tom Hardy - Guerilla Broadcast (MIXTAPE)

My psychic abilities are so on point this month.  I need to open a hotline today and make this future money.  I called this release a while back, just had no idea what the title of the project was.  Tom just seemed to fall off the radar for a while.  Then, out of nowhere, up pops these tracks on Bandcamp that are undeniably fiyah!  I don't know what happened to his push --let's just say I'm not seeing a collective gang of retweets for this mixtape.  But that doesn't matter to me.  I'll retweet the hell out of it, because I know it's dope

The Mixtape features production from Jaisu, Fatin, Eric G., Thee Band Geeks, and more.  There are also some lyrical appearances by Scoopay of M1 Platoon and King Mez.  This Joint Goes!

Oddisee - Odd Renditions (EP)

Where the hell did this come from?  Bandcamp and Twitter may be the two greatest social media invention of my generation.  I have stumbled upon some of the best jazz, blues, soul, and rap music I would have never heard if it weren't for BC.

This new project by ODD has a more mellow tempo through out the short EP -- only 4 tracks.  I believe I'm currently listening to the Bon Iver sampled track and it's got this Mickey Mau$e feel that I definitely dig.  Bluesy guitars and rap is always a dope listen. 

Being that it's only 4 tracks, why not give it a listen and appreciate the dedication to the merginig of sounds across genres.

Childish Gambino ft. Schoolboy Q - Unnecessary

So yea.  They been doing shows together along with Danny Brown.  This was expected and long awaited.  Now I just need a song with Childish and Danny so I can prove to folk that they DO NOT SOUND A LIKE AT ALL.  I got tone deaf fam yo, that's why I'm yelling.

ANTHM ft. Blu - Polaris

I wonder if this is the song that I got "footage" -- the sound quality in the venue was horrible -- of at SXSW.  I hope so because my video definitely didn't do the song or the performance any justice.  These two guys just work on the stage together.  I'm glad to see Blu coming back to the east too.  I know something yall will know.... Stay Tuned!

DMX - The Weigh In (EP)

Earl Simmons is out of prison and in the studio cooking up....well he's cooking.  Let's just leave it at that.  With the whole VH1 Couples Therapy fiasco, DMX wasted no time piggy backing off such a risky PR move and dropping an EP for the fans. 

The Weigh In includes 11 new tracks with just as much barking as every DMX project.  Some of the features include, Big Stan, Snoop Dogg -- on the hook and adlibs --, and production from Dre. 

From what I've heard so far, it's some recycled beats, and questionable engineering.  But it's still raw DMX spitting just as animated as he's always done.  If you've been waiting for some judicial leniency --word of the day calendar-- so X could get back to makeing music.  This mixtape....is for you.  Enjoy.
