The Black Church vs. Marijuana
Above, is the link to a very well written article talking about Reverend Ron Allen of the International Faith Based Coalition in California and their new mission in life, which seems to be, stop Prop 19. Basically, proposition 19 would make it legal for individuals over 21 (the legal drinking age) to possess an ounce of marijuana. Rev. Run...I mean Ron... is a former skid-row-inhabitant if you get what I mean, and is speaking out in the name of the Chuuch against Prop 19 solely based on his past issues with drugs. Yep, cause smoking weed always leads to smoking crack.
Marijuana, realistically is a lot less harmful than its legal counterpart alcohol, and is used in treatment of patients with all types of issues, not just extreme cases of Couch-potato-itis. I wish people in the black community would find more important battles to fight. This cliche shit is getting old. These pointless battles don't aid in conquering the real wars we should be fighting and I for one would fall no more prey to the teachings of this group if they did help to defeat Prop 19.
