Red Tails - 2/10
Horrible Acting (not actors)/ Bad Directing/ Bad Production/ Horrendously Awful Score/
Please, no sequels or prequels, I beg of thee, Sir Lucas the Great!
Haywire - 7.5/10
Some of the best filmed fight scenes I've EVER seen in a theater. Definitely showed how a chick that can really fight is just as much a threat as a dude who can fight. As my boy Rodimusprime put it "MMA Fighter surrounded by great actors". The Score was a bit annoying even though I understand the whole 70's style spy film thing they were going for. Needed more Jazz Flute. A bit slow and draggy in some parts.
The Grey - 10/10
F*ck Animal Rights Groups! This film is the best sh*t I've seen this year. The Cinematography was awesome. One of the most suspenseful films in recent years. The character development wasn't too much nor was it too little. The realistic, documentary type feel was also much appreciated. Liam is king of Jan/Feb releases. We forever forgive Carnahan for A-Team.
HereAfter - 4/10
I get what the movie was going for, that doesn't mean the execution was good. It was so good awful slow. Just dreary and dead-like. The opening scene is SO GREAT, but from there is just 2 hrs of "Is this sh*t still on?". The plot development seriously needed some fast forwarding, 32x like Jaguar.
50/50 - 9/10
Awesome Film. I honestly didn't know if Joseph Gordon-Levitt was going to live or die. The fact that Seth Rogen helped produce this was also a bit shocking, but nice to know he's growing in the right direction. I definitely liked Anna Kendrick as the Psychiatrist and it really pains me to see her in films like the Twilight Saga when she should be casted in more films like Up in the Air and 50/50.
Higher Ground - 5/10
Not highly impressed, but at the same time I wasn't bored. Film really touched on a lot of the things I tend to question about religion that other people seem to accept so blindly. I was a bit confused by the end. I didn't get the message the film tried to reference showing something at the beginning that mimiced an incident towards the very end. I would def. recommend it, but I won't be watching it again.
The Darkest Hour - 1/10
Just, simply put, How the f*ck did Emile Hirsch go from Lords of Dogtown & Into The Wild to this piece of sh*t that Chris Gorak and Jon Spaihts spliced together during one of their binge and acid trips.
Nice Effort on the retelling of a film we've all seen over 50 kabilliongillionmilliontrillion times. Please don't make any more renditions of this story. Robin Hood is the most played out fable inspired by true events in the history of some ole bool shet inspired by some ole bool shet that's meant to have moral teachings. Oh, its was too damn long.
Friends With Money - 8/10
I'm a sucker for films like this. We get to look into the lives of people who think they have it all figured out and realize they don't or you get to realize they don't as they naively play it out. I'm also a sucker for anything with Jennifer Anniston where's awkward or the outcast and not the hot or sexy chick. These films require her to actual act and I think she's a great actor when casted in these roles. Down to Earth Jennifer > Sexist Women of All Time Jennifer smh. I also like that they leave that lingering question about one of the husbands dangling over your head throughout the whole film and beyond the end credits.
Tucker And Dale vs. Evil - 8/10
A cheap, low budget, mock-horror film? I'm in! I like how it's flipped that Tucker & Dale are actually the ones being hunted by the city kids on vacation. It's definitely an eye opener to those West Virginia Cannibalistic / Texas Chainsaw Massacring / The Hills Have Eyes & Deliverance r*ping backwoods inbred &/ mutated human stereotypes.
