Ted | New Film Starring Mark Wahlberg & Seth MacFarlane [Trailer]

Mark Wahlberg is easily becoming one of my new favorite Used-to-be-action-stars-now-turned-goofball. He did an awesome job in The Other Guys (classic film) and now he's back again in a new comedy. The premise of this comedy seems kind of similar to the FX show Wilfred!, starring Elijah Woods. If you haven't watched Wilfred!, you should. While Wilfred! is about a guy who owns a dog that he sees as a person in a dog suit, but everyone else sees him as a dog, this movie "Ted" is about Mark Wahlberg wishing his Teddy Bear to life and everyone can see him. This is the essential of Brian and Peter Griffin from Family Guy getting their own film. What a coincidence since Seth MacFarlane is doing the voice of Teddy (the bear) in this new comedy. I also love me some Mila Kunis, so this film is definitely on my screener / openning weekend hit list.

I laughed hysterically at the trailer for this and truly believe it will be a good film for a few reasons. At first, this just seemed like a rip off of something like Paul, but that's ok if it's funny. Seth MacFarlane knows comedy, and he knows how to push it to the limit. Many of his jokes are actually him f*cking with the audience. The biggest mind f*ck about this film is the fact that you don't even question why this stuffed Teddy Bear is walking around in public, smoking weed, and even has a day time job which means he helps pay the bills. Just the thought of all this makes it hard for me to control the laughter. The film is also pointing a finger at the "Bromance" phenom that tends to play out in these buddy-buddy roommate situations, ONLY IT'S A F*CKING TEDDY BEAR AND A GROWN ASS MAN. This movie is going to be great. It's a fresh idea, and it's a pretty risky move. Films like this tend to get negative feedback about looking corny and just plain awful, from jump. I disagree this time. Give it a chance people.

If you don't laugh at the scene with Mark naming all the slutty, bimbo names for dumb white girls then this film isn't for you.
