Here it is. My #1. Fashawn "Ode to Illmatic". Always been a fan of Fashawn and this is by far his best work. To have the balls to take on "Illmatic" and the skills to pull it off. And he just isn't spitting over the beats. He is paying homage to an artist that inspired him. And that inspiration can be heard on every track. He takes the vibe and feel of "Illmatic" and translates that to his life and experiences in the new millennium. This tape was so good that it made me go back and give a very critical listen to Nas's classic. By looking back to the past, we can see that the future of hip hop is extremely bright.
