Blu-Ray Tuesdays 5/15 | This Movie Is For You - The Grey

Your Weekly Guide To Building A Dope Movie Collection

Amazon Deal: $19.99

Description:Liam Neeson (Schindler's List, Taken) stars as the unlikely hero Ottway in this undeniably suspenseful and powerful survival adventure. After their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness, a roughneck group of oil drillers is forced to find a way back to civilization. As Ottway leads the injured survivors through the brutal snow and ice, they are relentlessly tracked by a vicious pack of rogue wolves that will do anything to defend their territory.

Adrenaline-fueled, action-packed and loaded with some of the most intense and brutally realistic attack scenes ever filmed, The Grey is being hailed as "a thriller you can sink your teeth into!" (The Washington Post).

What I Thought About It:      4.5 out of 5
( You Could Wait, But WHY?!)

The Grey makes Alive look like a film about a bunch of men crashing a plane in Disney Land.  While the main foe perceived by viewers of the trailer were super wolves, always remember "Trailers Lie".  This film is about the physical, mental, and even spirtual struggle these survivors have to fight against when dealing with the perils of mother nature.  This film showcases how easily natural elements can become the predators, preying upon men you use what little they have, ultimately to no avail.  This film is dark, gritty, savage, thrilling, and just bloody-beautiful.  Have you ever wondered if you could survive such a situation?  If so,   THIS MOVIE IS FOR YOU!

What I Thought About It:      5 out of 5
(Can't Wait, Don't Wait..Buy Dat! Buy Dat!)

Take a director in his mid twenties, give him $15M dollars and watch him direct a film that studios handing out $100M just can't ever seem to get right.  Chronicle is it's title.  The story of three friends who gain the power of telekinesis and have to figure out how to adjust to this new ability.  For me, the movie portrayed so much realism.  I look at this film, I see the journey of these 3 guys, and I see myself and my friends at that age and I can imagine us with these powers.  This film made me laugh, almost made me cry, made me excited, and it made me think.  This is one of the best found footage films to date.  It's the Cloverfield of action films.  THIS MOVIE IS FOR YOU!

What I Thought About It:      3.5 out of 5   ( Catch It On Sale)

This movie has some of the best fighting scenes I've ever seen in an American film.  The plot of the story is very simple, but who cares.  You're going to enjoy actually seeing what a trained female fighter can do in some real life or death brawls.   This isn't some 90lb actress diving off bridges and wielding rocket launchers.  Along with that, the movie greatly appeals to fans of 70's spy films.  If you ever wanted to see Fassbender end up in the thigh choke of death or you marvel at the thought of Channing Tatum having bones broken, THIS MOVIE IS FOR YOU.
